We the People
Originally painted in 2003, We the People is a sweeping visual record of American history composed of more than 400 individual portraits woven into the fabric of the American flag. Each face represents a figure who shaped the nation's moral, political, or cultural foundation, organized across eras rather than ideology. A copy of the painting currently resides in the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum in College Station, Texas. In preparation for America's 250th anniversary, the artist is re-imagining the work to include modern historical figures, extending the narrative into the present day. The painting stands as both a tribute to the past and a living document of the American experiment.
